S.H.A.D., Inc. is a New York 501©3 approved non profit organization founded on May 20, 2008, and became a legal foundation on October 25, 2010 in Haiti. Several frighten diseases occur in the world regarding sexually transmitted diseases (STD’S), and TB, but among them the most terrifying one is HIV/AIDS. Imagine you are living with a virus that is to date, still not curable and you have no hope of help in quality care.This is the population that S.H.A.D. is assisting. There are many barriers to overcome including lack of education and, limited access to health care.

S.H.AD. is dedicated to enhance the quality of life, while providing education, medical, emotional and social support services unavailable to low-income Haitian women from 14-45 years of age including the pregnant, living under poverty level status affected/infected by the virus of HIV/AIDS in the Northwest of Haiti.

S.H.A.D. will advocate for their needs and rights, Our flagship clinic will operate five days a week and will be located in an urban/rural demographic accessible by bus, and of walking distance (Port-de-Paix). Even though the harshness of the disease is no longer a popular topic, it is still a major issue particularly among the Haitian especially the poor.

Objective:

To educate and decrease the yearly death rate of the poor Haitian women (14-45) years of age and their unborn babies in the Northwest of Haiti living with TB and HIV/AIDS. To ensure a low birth rate complication in the pregnant, and continue to monitor the patients for follow up visits.
